ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW: Food Finders reduces hunger and prevents food waste by rescuing surplus food, connecting this abundance with people in need, and inspiring others to do the same. This food helps feed Southern California’s most vulnerable populations. 

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for supporting the Food Acquisitions Manager while establishing skills and knowledge to successfully engage and secure tier 2 and tier 3 new food donors as well as maintaining relationships with existing donors and receivers. This will be done through field visitations, and written communication.

The goal of this position will be to increase incoming food donations and increasing awareness of Food Finders presence in the communities we serve.

In this role you will be responsible for finding and researching prospective purchasing deals and negotiate the terms and contract of the purchase, work with Acquisitions Manager on finalizing the purchases.

In this position you will work on several projects at once and handle multiple donors and vendors simultaneously.

This position is also responsible for weekly tasks of the Food 4 Kids program and seasonal food drives the oversight of the Food 4 Kids program includes but is not limited to the purchasing, and restocking of needed food, cost and quality control and the coordination of food bag delivery, the seasonal food drives involve connecting with donor and perspective donors to host a company food drive at various locations.

This position will work closely with our Recipient Agency coordinators and the Food Program Administrator. This position reports directly to the Acquisitions Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.  Cultivate and manage relationships with tier 2 and 3 food donors and receivers

2.  Identify, develop, and secure new food donors  

3.  Maintain clear and consistent communication with food donors via site visits, emails, social media, donation letters and quarterly poundage reports.

4.  Manage donor app updates as needed.

5.  Create special pallet donor forms as needed and work with Recipient Agency Coordinator on placing donations

6.  Work closely with the Recipient Agency Coordinator assigning new donors to existing agencies or recruiting new agencies as needed.

7.  Work with the Director of Operations and Acquisitions Manager developing and implementing a marketing strategy of communication with new and existing food donors.

8.  Work closely with Food Program Administrator generating quarterly poundage reports for new and existing food donors

9.  Maintain Food 4 Kids pantry inventory and work with Acquisitions Manager to purchase items as needed

10.  Work closely with the school principal, teachers and staff in the implementation and creation program evaluation.

11.  Manage and coordinate seasonal food drives

12.  Find and research food vendors, manage food purchases

13.  Work with Warehouse Associate in managing inventory control

14.  All other duties as assigned by Director of Operations and Acquisitions Manager


1.  Bachelor’s degree and a passion for hunger relief and human services.

2.  Previous experience in a non-profit environment desired.

3.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

4.  Ability to effectively and positively present program information.

5.  Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage numerous activities consistently.

6.  Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

7.  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a diverse staff.

9.  CA Driver License and insured personal vehicle.10.  Food Safety Certification required.
