In CA 1.4 million children live in food insecure homes. In the school year 2022-2023, California became the first state to implement a statewide Universal Meal Program for school children regardless of family income. This includes a nutritiously adequate breakfast and lunch for all children each school day. In many cases these meals serve as the primary source of food during the week. But what happens on the weekends?

Our Food 4 Kids program is currently providing weekend more than 1,600 meal boxes a month to 47 schools in the Long Beach Unified School District. They ensure that students have the nourishment they need to be healthy and ready to learn come Monday. These boxes are packed at our office and then delivered to the schools by volunteers each week.

This program is possible because or the many committed corporate groups and volunteers who pack the food boxes during the week and those that deliver the boxes on Thursday and Friday.
