Long Beach Gives is a local day of online giving focusing on harnessing the giving potential of the Long Beach community in support of non-profits in the area. Coming up on it’s since being created, Long Beach Gives has once again selected us, Food Finders, as a participating non-profit for this day of giving! On September 23rd, we will be aiming to raise $4000 during this 24 hour period to support our Food Hubs in West and North Long Beach.

What are our Food Hubs? These are shipping containers refurbished and turned into refrigeration units capable of storing pallets of food, specifically perishable food. These containers will allow Food Finders and our nonprofit partner agencies to have access to store and distribute perishable food like frozen meat, fish, dairy products, and much more. On top of that, these Food Hubs will serve as a location for community events such as educational workshops cooking classes to happen in the Long Beach community.
